What is the incubation period of Ebola?
Short answer
2 to 21 days, usually 8 to 10 days. You are not contagious during the incubation period.

That is why contacts of a patient are monitored for 21 days. An outbreak is only declared over after 42 days (twice the incubation period) without new cases.
Early symptoms resemble flu or malaria: fever, headache, muscle pain and fatigue.
