Is there Ebola in the Netherlands?

Short answer

There is no Ebola outbreak in the Netherlands. Suspected cases are isolated and tested immediately; so far they have tested negative or were imported and treated without onward spread.

The Netherlands has specialised isolation units at hospitals including Radboudumc, Erasmus MC and Amsterdam UMC. RIVM coordinates the response with regional health services.

The risk to the general public is very low. Ebola does not spread through the air, only through direct contact with body fluids of someone who is ill.
